Chapter Philanthropy

The Gamma Upsilon chapter has three main philanthropies that are close to our hearts: Reading is Fundamental, The Canadian Cancer Society and Jack.org. We are so proud to have a weekly philanthropy event. Every Friday, our sisters volunteer at the local elementary school, where we help the third-grade class improve their reading while also adding some fun to both their day and ours!

We have two annual philanthropic events benefitting The Canadian Cancer Society. First, we have our annual participation in the CIBC Run for the Cure, in which we raised over $10,400 this year alone. We host the Desserts For A Cure bake sale in the fall, where we raised over $4,000 this year.

In the spring, we host the Kamp Kappa fundraiser for Jack.org, a Canadian charity that provides mental health support and suicide prevention to Canadian youth. This year, we raised over $3,500 for Jack.org!

Having fun while supporting causes in our communities and close to our hearts is such an important part of our chapter and sisterhood.
